Hailing from Austin, Texas, I have always been drawn to creative endeavors.
I spent my youth reluctantly learning the piano while trying my best to ignore school.
After college I had a decision to make; go to graduate school or go on the road playing keyboards. It was an easy decision and for the next ten years I was a full time musician, traveling around the country, relocating to Los Angeles, then back to Austin.
As with all good things, my life on the road had to come to an end. I focused on songwriting and almost immediately discovered my love for writing fiction.
I have penned over 20 manuscripts, some good, some awful, but I enjoyed every minute of the doing it.
Now, I have begun the process of selecting my more promising works to polish up and publish. As a kid in school, I despised re-writing English papers, so imagine how surprised I was to discover how much I enjoy the process of rewriting novels. I look forward to sharing my many works with you, so stay tuned.
“I’ve been writing for many years, but it took that long to finally finish something worth publishing.”
“I usually write what ‘comes out’ rather than trying to fit a particular niche.”
“When I am writing something new, I like to write 2000 words a day, but sometimes I get on a roll and can’t stop.”
“I’ve always loved reading but never considered writing until I read Stephen King’s memoir (On Writing). He said he listens to music when he writes. So, I put on my headphones and the rest is history.”
“Every time I think I’m out of ideas, a day, a week, a month passes and suddenly I’m flooded with stories I can’t wait to write. I think everyone has a story to tell, whether it’s fiction or non-fiction, you just have to let your thoughts lead the way.”
